Transfer Bulk Systems, Inc. (TBS)
Throughout our 50-year history, our company went through several expansions and acquisitions before we ultimately became known as Carmeuse Systems. Each change helped to grow our organization and increase the scope of systems and services we provided to our customers. One of the earliest of these was the formation of Transfer Bulk Systems, Inc., also known as TBS.

The Role of Transfer Bulk Systems, Inc.
We have been designing and engineering high-quality pneumatic conveying systems and equipment solutions since our founding in 1970. In those early days, we operated under the name Semco Systems Limited, and the company focused principally on customers in the food and mineral processing industries across the North American market.
At the time, Semco Systems Limited was headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario, and utilized its wholly owned subsidiary, Transfer Bulk Systems Corp., to handle business in the United States. Then, in June 1990, Transfer Bulk Systems, Inc. was established to serve the US market.
The Acquisition of Transfer Bulk Systems, Inc.
In the years that followed, the parent company acquired several additional companies and underwent a series of name changes to consolidate and better align its business units. In that time, the name Transfer Bulks Systems was retired. As a whole, the parent company rebranded to Semcan Inc., and later STT Enviro Corp.
STT Enviro Corp. was acquired by Carmeuse, the global lime and limestone manufacturer, in 2017, and ultimately rebranded to the name we know today, Carmeuse Systems, in 2024.
