Founded in 1970 in Mississauga, Ontario, Semco Systems Limited began by designing and engineering high-quality pneumatic conveying systems and equipment solutions for customers in the North American market. The business initially focused on providing solutions to the food and mineral processing industries.

As the company expanded, it developed a reputation for efficiency, reliability, and innovation in industrial automation and control. To support operations in the United States, Semco Systems Limited utilized its wholly owned subsidiary, Transfer Bulk Systems Corp., to serve customers across the U.S. market.

Growth, Expansion, and Evolution

Over the years, the organization grew through expansion and acquisition, strengthening its capabilities and broadening its offerings. In 2000, the company went public and began trading on the TSX Venture Exchange, marking an important milestone in its growth.

In February 2007, the parent company’s name was changed to Semcan Inc., reflecting continued evolution and alignment of the business. In 2013, the organization rebranded as STT Enviro Corp., further consolidating its operations and expertise.

In 2017, STT Enviro Corp. was acquired by Carmeuse, a global leader in lime and limestone solutions. This marked a significant step in aligning system engineering expertise with raw material and process knowledge. In 2024, the business was fully integrated and unified under the Carmeuse Systems name, bringing together decades of engineering, innovation, and industry experience into a single, cohesive organization. Today, all former Semco Systems Limited capabilities, solutions, and expertise operate exclusively as part of Carmeuse Systems.
