Semco Systems Limited
While we are known as Carmeuse Systems today, our company experienced several name changes over the years as we acquired subsidiaries and grew our range of offerings. These milestones in our 50-year history helped to shape the business we’ve become, and it all began with Semco Systems Limited.

Beginning as Semco Systems Limited
Founded in 1970, Semco Systems Limited got its start in Mississauga, Ontario, designing and engineering quality pneumatic conveying systems and equipment solutions for customers in the North American market. Initially, the business focused primarily on developing equipment solutions for clients in the food and mineral processing industries. As time went on and Semco Systems Limited expanded, we began utilizing our wholly owned subsidiary, Transfer Bulk Systems Corp., to handle business in the United States.
In the years that followed, Semco built a reputation for efficiency, reliability, and providing innovation solutions for industrial automation and control. The company went public in 2000 and began trading on the TSX Venture Exchange. The parent company’s name was later changed to “Semcan Inc.” in Feburary 2007.
The Acquisition of Semco
The company completed several acquisitions in the next decade, expanding the capabilities and product offerings of the business. To better align these new business units, the company underwent a few name changes, until 2013 when it became known as STT Enviro Corp.
In 2017, STT Enviro Corp. was acquired by Carmeuse, the global lime and limestone manufacturer. This final milestone moved the company back to being a private entity. In 2024, it was then fully integrated into the Carmeuse family of companies and named Carmeuse Systems.
