Carmeuse Systems has a long history of expertise in lime handling. We have spent decades working with customers to design lime handling systems and provide post-installation support of dry bulk chemical processing systems and bulk material storage and handling systems that best fit their needs.
2024
Storage & Transfer Technologies, Inc. is renamed Carmeuse Systems, a crucial component of the Carmeuse End-2-End offerings, which includes expertise in lime and limestone as a raw material, freight and logistics services, and lime handling systems, parts, and components
Carmeuse is a privately owned Belgian company, founded in 1860, evolving from a calcium-based mineral provider into a company that continues to add integrated services. As one of the most well-known and well-respected lime and limestone companies in the world, Carmeuse is the only provider of such wide-ranging support for customers lime needs.
2022
STT operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Carmeuse, a global manufacturer of lime and limestone products used in a variety of applications, which provide cleaner air, safer water and improved soil characteristics. Founded in 1860, Carmeuse is a privately owned Belgian company evolving from a calcium-based mineral provider into a company that continues to add integrated services. As a Member of the Carmeuse Group, STT has extensive knowledge and expertise in lime-based products across diverse industries and applications.
2017
On May 19, 2017, Carmeuse acquired STT Enviro Corp., and shortly after the company ceased to be a public company. It now operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Carmeuse.
The company’s name was changed from “STT Enviro Corp.” to “Storage & Transfer Technologies, Inc.” on June 4, 2019.
On July 31, 2020, Transfer Bulk Systems, Inc. was merged with “Storage and Transfer Technologies, Inc.” and now operates under the “Storage and Transfer Technologies, Inc.” name.
2013
The company’s name was changed from “Semcan Inc.” to “STT Enviro Corp.” on February 20, 2013.
2010
After the acquisitions of Stanco and ZMI, the company integrated the operations, and the combined business continued to operate from locations in Milton, ON and Richmond, BC. On January 1, 2010, the parent company amalgamated with wholly owned subsidiaries Stanco Projects Limited and ZMI Portec Inc., and the amalgamated company continued operating as “Semcan Inc.”
2009
In November 2009, the company acquired the assets of the ZMI Portec Division of The Conveyor Company, an Iowa corporation. This acquisition was important as it allowed the company to add the industry- standard ZMI Portec line of lime slaking equipment to its product portfolio. After the acquisition, the company improved the design and performance of the ZMI line.
2007
In July 2007, the company acquired the business of Stanco Projects Ltd. Founded in 1978, Stanco operated from an office in Richmond, BC, and worked on projects worldwide. Stanco’s focus was the design, engineering and integrating of high-quality chemical handling systems for a wide variety of industrial, municipal and commercial clients. These systems include bulk material handling equipment, particularly in respect of water and wastewater treatment chemicals, municipal water storage tanks, and aluminium geodesic dome structures.
2000
The company became a public company in 2000 when parent company Semco Technologies Inc. began trading on the TSX Venture Exchange. The parent company’s name was changed to “Semcan Inc.” on February 5, 2007.
1990s
On June 25, 1990, Transfer Bulk Systems, Inc. was established to serve the US market.
1970
The company began operations in 1970 as Semco Systems Limited, headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario. Semco’s business was the design and installation of pneumatic conveying systems and equipment, principally for the food and mineral processing industries. Operations were focused on North America markets, with US business handled by wholly owned subsidiary Transfer Bulk Systems Corp.
