Pre-Engineered Systems
Reagents We Service
When building a system to handle dry bulk materials, it is crucial to consider the properties of the material itself. Without understanding the material and how it behaves prior to designing and engineering a system, errors can be made that aren’t seen until the system is running, causing lost time and increased costs. By taking the characteristics of the raw material used into account, the system can be expertly built to ensure that it will function smoothly and provide an uninterrupted supply of material. Without a thorough knowledge of the raw material, plugging and other major issues can occur, including:
- Unplanned outages and downtime
- Increase maintenance costs
- Safety concerns
- Costly repairs
We are experts in lime and limestone, but have expertise with several different dry bulk materials that are used across many industries like water treatment, flue gas treatment, steel manufacturing, and more.
Lime&Limestone
Lime and Limestone Products
Carmeuse Systems is a subsidiary of Carmeuse, one of the world’s leading lime and limestone producers. What this means for our customers is that when you work with us, you have access to not only expert engineers, but also experts in the raw material used in your application. Our team can provide End-2-End support for all aspects of your system and supply. There is no one better suited to design and build a lime handling system to work at peak performance.
Our companies also have extensive experience in lime slaking. In addition to providing guidance on the slaking equipment to best suit your needs, we can also share a deep knowledge and best practices for the quicklime being used in the process. This connection helps ensure that you get the highest-quality slurry possible.
OtherReagents
Other Reagents
In addition to lime and limestone based raw materials, we also have expertise and experience in building systems that handle other dry materials such as:
- Soda Ash (Sodium Carbonate):
Soda ash, also known as sodium carbonate, is a white, odorless powder commonly used to raise the pH in water treatment processes. This versatile chemical is used in glass manufacturing, detergents/cleaning agents, and metallurgical processes. - Fly Ash:
Fly ash is a fine, powdery byproduct produced from burning pulverized coal in electric power plants. Collected fly ash often retains very high lime content, and as such, it can be recycled back into scrubbing processes to reduce overall lime requirements. - Magnesium Oxide (MgO):
Magnesium oxide (MgO) is a dry powder frequently used for silica removal and pH adjustment. MgO is used in the production of ceramics, cement, and as a fireproofing agent. It also has uses in water treatment and flue gas desulfurization. - Powder Activated Carbon:
Powdered Activated Carbon (PAC) is a finely ground form of activated carbon that is highly effective for use in the adsorption of impurities, including in water treatment and other industrial processes.
