Keep your industrial cartridge bin vent dust collector at peak performance by choosing high efficiency pleated cartridge dust filters from Carmeuse Systems. We offer a line of high efficiency, OEM-specified, pleated cartridge dust filters for use in nearly any industrial application. Available in a wide variety of sizes and material options, including a highly efficient PTFE membrane, our line of pleated filter cartridges is ideal for even the toughest operating conditions where filtration, excellent abrasion, high temperature, and moisture resistance are required.
Why Choose a Replacement Filter From Carmeuse Systems?
Selecting the correct dust filter is key for reaching peak performance from your dust collection system and ensuring a safe work environment. Selecting the wrong type of filter can result in your system running inefficiently, excess contaminants being released, and could potentially cause damage to other equipment in your plant. We make it our priority to understand your equipment and your application so we can confidently recommend the right solution that best addresses your specific filter needs.
Key Considerations for Filter Selection
Selecting the right filter products for your dust collection system is essential. Several key considerations need to be taken into account when selecting the appropriate replacement filter:
- Type of chemical or bulk material being process
- Type of application
- Operating temperature
- Level of abrasion resistance required
- Air-to-cloth ratio
- Cleaning method

FAQs
A cartridge dust collector or a bin vent filter is designed to vent displaced air from storage silos or bins during filling by a pneumatic or mechanical convey system. While venting displaced air, it prevents dust particles and other harmful products from being emitted into the atmosphere or surrounding environment.
This dust collector uses a pleated cartridge filter instead of bags. Because the filters are pleated, they have a larger total filtering surface area per cubic feet per minute (CFM), which reduces the air-to-cloth ratio and the overall size of the collector. The open pleat structure offers more filter media than standard filter bags reducing the number of filters your system requires saving you time and money.
Cartridge dust collectors are cleaned by a set of reverse pulse jets that activate sequentially to clean material off the filters using compressed air and blow the dust particulates back into the storage silo or bin.
Carmeuse Systems offers the following two types of cartridge filters made of the following substrates:
- The PTFE laminated spunbonded 100% polyester cartridge filter consists of a membrane of PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) laminated over a spunbonded polyester substrate that results in a microporous surface.
- The spunbonded 100% polyester cartridge filter is made of a spunbonded polyester substrate which is a high strength media composition making it durable and long lasting.
Filter cartridges need to be changed before they become plugged. Many operating plants schedule a change out of their dust collector filters on an annual basis. Some sites, with difficult to handle materials, schedule these changes twice per year.
How often you need to change your filter cartridges will depend on the number of product deliveries that your plant receives. A site that receives six deliveries per day will have to change out their dust collector filters more often than a site that receives one delivery every two weeks.
These filters should also be changed out when the normal built in cleaning cycle, whether reverse pulse jet or shaker, does not adequately clean these filters.
