Cost Savings with Component Upgrades
How old is your lime handling or slaking system?
If your system is more than a few years old, chances are you are losing efficiency, increasing lime usage, spending more money, and risking unplanned downtime for additional maintenance needs.
Retrofits
Retrofitting your older system with new technologies can help to make your system safer and more efficient at a fraction of the cost of a complete system replacement. STT continually makes improvements to existing components and offers new features that make equipment, like our lime slakers safer, more reliable, and more productive.
For the most common problems with a lime handling system, there are component upgrades and replacements that can address the issue.
Plugging and lime build up in your lime slaker?
Consider upgrading your slaker with a wetting bowl. The wetting bowl is an ancillary device installed on top of a lime slaker or a mixing tank feed inlet port. It creates a water curtain around the dry feed stream minimizing wet bulk material from plugging the slaker or mixing tank feed inlet port. A cone of water is created at the feed inlet port, producing a cyclone effect inside the bowl, ensuring the interior surface is covered in water, minimizing dry spots. This allows you to put more bulk material in your process, saving you both time and money.
Annual costs increasing to run your lime slaking system?
Consider a wet scrubber. This component captures the dust or vapor by introducing a water curtain across the extracted air stream from the chamber. A venturi eductor induces a vacuum that pulls the dust into the scrubber wetting zone and is wetted by a water spray nozzle. Any dust or vapor that escapes the wetting zone is knocked out by the baffles located in the knockout zone and is returned to the chamber resulting in no wasted product.
Dry product getting stuck in your storage tank?
Consider an I-2 Impactor. The I-2 Impactor aids the flow of dry bulk materials that tend to stick, bridge or compact in storage tanks or hoppers. The Impactor uses compressed air to generate blows of high intensity at low frequency, producing a sledgehammer effect without hopper damage or manual labor, minimizing your maintenance time and costs.
