Pre-Engineered Systems
High Density Lime Feed System
High density lime (HDL) slurry is produced by mixing hydrated lime (Ca(OH)2) with water in a mix tank to form a high concentration slurry with more than 30% solids by volume. Due to the high percentage of calcium hydroxide solids in suspension, high density lime slurries are less prone to settling and scaling in tanks and piping. High density lime slurries are used in an array of applications including water and wastewater treatment, chemical manufacturing, mining/ore processing, and soil stabilization.
The key to creating an effective high density lime slurry is careful control of concentration. Carmeuse Systems simplifies on-site production of high density lime slurry for your application by offering a pre-engineered High Density Lime System. We assemble, install, and integrate all components and equipment before shipment. Our standard high density lime system comes in a three-piece modular design with different options to suit your exact needs. This design includes all the necessary components for a quick and efficient setup and is designed to handle the rigors of your application while reducing construction time and shipping costs. Carmeuse Systems monta, instala tuberías y cables e integra todos los componentes/equipamiento mediante un panel de control automatizado en nuestras instalaciones antes del envío. The pre-insulated modular box is shipped upright on a skid and fits on a conventional truck.

Capabilities
Capabilities
At Carmeuse Systems, we understand the intricacies of making high density lime slurry. Our pre-engineered High Density Lime System is designed to meet the unique handling and storage demands of producing lime slurry with a high percentage of suspended solids. Our experienced engineering teams also work closely with our customers to identify the specific needs of your site and ensure that your system seamlessly integrates into your operation.
In addition to our equipment expertise, Carmeuse Systems is also equipped to assist you in determining the optimal concentration for your high density lime slurry. Although the ideal percentage of solids can vary depending on the needs of your application, the specific chemistry and particle size distribution of your hydrated lime supply, and your water composition, finding the right balance is crucial. Excessively high percentages of solids can result in lime slurries that are stiff and difficult to pump. Utilizing the experience and advanced testing capabilities of the Carmeuse Innovation Center, our teams can help identify the best concentrations for producing high density lime slurry that stays in suspension and maintains pumpability, given your inputs.
